Liliana Sulzbach is a journalist with a master’s degree in Political Science from UFRGS. She has directed the award-winning films "The Invention of Childhood", 2000; "The Prison and the Street", 2004; "The Color White", 2000; "The City", 2012; and many TV documentaries and series.​

She studied Communication Science at the Freie Universität Berlin. Partner-director of Tempo Porto Alegre, she was coordinator of production and the Film and Television Sector of Zeppelin Filmes from 2006 to 2008. She was National Coordinator of INPUT (International Public Television Conference) from 2001 to 2004 and has worked as an independent producer for Hamburger Kino Kompanie/Hamburg, M. Schmiedt Produções and Spiegel TV, Germany.

Films have been licensed to channels such as RBS TV – affiliated to Rede Globo,  ("Sonho de Guri" and "The Bizarre Friends of Ricardinho"), Canal Brasil ("The Prison and the Street", "The City" and "The Bizarre Friends of Ricardinho"), TV Cultura ("O Continente de Erico"), and also to channels in Denmark, Sweden and Netherlands (DRTV, STV and NOS - "The White Color"), Spain and Canada (Canal Plus and CBC - "The Invention of Childhood").
